MAGNA a Syrian crisis

The situation in Syria itself and in neighboring countries - Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, where it currently has around 5 million people emigrated from Syria, is very demanding and the number of children and their families have no or very limited access to health care. Magna opened its center in April 2016 in Beirut (Lebanon), from where we coordinate our activities in the area.

Syria - Syria Magna currently provides and increases access to quality primary health care and specialized psychosocial care for the population in the rural part of the north of Homs and by operation of mobile health services. We ensure the availability of quality primary health care for internally displaced populations and to consolidate and improve the capacity of health workers and health care. Make available specialized medical care for women and girls of reproductive age, including basic psychosocial intervention for victims of violence and victims of sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) is also one of our priorities in Syria.

MAGNA a Refugee crisis

MAGNA in 2015 responded to the largest humanitarian event - the refugee crisis in Europe in recent years and since the beginning of September, we provided health care to children and their families on the run. After a brief treatment in Hungary we have provided medical care to the Serbian-Croatian border at a refugee camp Opatovac. From November 3rd, we acted in newly built refugee centers in Slavonski Brod in Croatia. Two medical teams, consisting of four doctors and four nurses, translators and support staff here every day and night (in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Health) treated children and their families - we are daily treated an average of 600 to 800 patients. Provision of systematic health care during their trip was vitally important. The most common health problems include respiratory diseases, diarrhea, foot injuries, sub-cooling as well as deterioration and complications of chronic diseases. Overall, we in Hungary and Croatia were treated 35,000 people.
